The making of the ridge pool

The photograph everyone takes at Saputara is the pool against the valley. Getting it there took two monsoons.

Water on a ridge does not sit still. The first design would have drained straight into the slope below; the second added a catchment that now feeds the garden. The view was never the hard part.
